On April 30th, Pi Beta Phi and Sigma Phi Epsilon will be hosting a casino night fundraiser from 5:00-9:00pm to raise money for the ongoing efforts to bring the T.A.K.E. self-defense program to campus in the Fall. T.A.K.E. is nationally associated with Sigma Phi Epsilon and Pi Beta Phi (as well as Alpha Delta Pi) as of 2007.

Named the "Most Innovative Program" in 2006 by the Kansas Recreation and Parks Association, T.AK.E. seeks to be the nation's premiere program providing hands-on skills and Internet/DVD-directed information for girls and women.

The program began in response to the murder of a 19-year-old girl, Alexandra Kemp, while she was working at a neighborhood pool in Kansas. More than 35,000 women have been trained with free hands-on-self-defense training across the United States since the inception of the program.

Pi Beta Phi and Sigma Phi Epsilon are very excited to raise enough money to bring such a large event to campus in the fall, so please save the date on the 30th for a night of games, prizes, and fun!

Also, if you would like to donate or have any questions, please email Jackie Carlson or Ashley Griffin.
